FAQ

About this course

What age can a child start guitar?

Acoustic guitar from about 7 (fingers need to press steel strings); 5–6 year olds can start on ukulele. Adult beginners are our most common guitar students.

Do I need my own guitar first?

No, lessons use the centre's guitars. After the first month we help you choose the right size.

How soon can I play a song?

Most students strum a simple pop song with basic chords within 8–12 lessons, then progress to fingerstyle or classical.

Are guitar lessons one-to-one? How are fees set?

Yes, all KARON guitar lessons are one-to-one and paced to the student. Fees depend on level and lesson length and are quoted after the trial; Macau residents aged 15+ can use the PDAC subsidy.

Can complete beginners join?

Yes. Every course has a beginner track; your teacher sets the starting point from the trial assessment.

How long and how often are lessons?

Usually 45 or 60 minutes once a week; exam sprints or adult intensives can be more frequent.

Do I need my own instrument?

Lessons use our instruments. Ask an advisor about rental or purchase options for home practice.

How much do lessons cost?

Fees depend on the instrument, level and lesson length (45 or 60 minutes). After a trial, an advisor gives a clear quote with no hidden fees; monthly or package options are available.

Which campus offers this course? Can I switch?

Rua da Barca, Fai Chi Kei and Rua do Campo share the same syllabus. Most instruments and art can be taken at the nearest campus or transferred; progress follows the student. Online piano can be taken at home.
