In one sentence: Children in Macau can start art classes at 5. KARON Education runs groups of 4–6: younger children begin with coloured pencil and observation, then watercolour; teens can add oil painting and sketching. Lessons start from real objects and demonstration — not colouring sheets. Overview: art classes.
What age?
- 5–6: coloured pencil and simple watercolour.
- 7+: watercolour, mixing and water control.
- 8+ and teens: oil painting and sketching.
What children gain
- Observation — look before drawing.
- Focus — finish a piece from sketch to final.
- Expression — colour and composition say what words can't.
- Confidence — a finished piece to take home every time.
How fees work
Fees depend on medium, number of lessons and time slot. Ask about materials (basic materials are provided for trial and beginner lessons), lesson length (usually 45–60 minutes; oil about 1 hour 45 minutes) and class size (4–6 at KARON). Your advisor gives a clear quote after the trial.
Where
All three campuses — Rua da Barca, Fai Chi Kei and Rua do Campo — can arrange classes, most often Rua do Campo. Art is not covered by the PDAC subsidy.
