In one sentence: DSEDJ's 2026–2029 Continuing Education Development Programme (PDAC) gives every Macau resident aged 15+ up to MOP 6,000 for approved course fees. KARON's piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums and guzheng courses are approved — see subsidised music courses.
Who is eligible?
- Macau residents who turn 15 by 31 December of any year from 2026 to 2029 become beneficiaries automatically from 1 January of that year.
- No separate application is needed; first-time users activate their Personal Learning Account online.
What can the MOP 6,000 cover?
- Fees for DSEDJ-approved courses and listed certification exams.
- Unused 2023–2026 balances do not carry over.
- The subsidy is personal and cannot be passed to family members.
How to check your balance
Log in to DSEDJ's Personal Learning Account system with your Macau One Account. Hotline: 2842 5199.
Enrolling in instrument lessons
One-to-one instrument lessons are "one-person courses":
- Enrol in person at the school with your own Macau ID on the dedicated terminal.
- Pay the fee upfront; no deposit.
- Sign in electronically before and after every lesson.
- Once valid attendance reaches 70%, claim the subsidy within 180 days (by 31 July 2029) via Macau One Account.
- DSEDJ usually replies within 45 days and pays within 90 days of approval.
More detail: one-person courses explained.
Making it count
- Pick an instrument you'll stick with: attendance under 70% affects the payout.
- Watch the course amount: group courses needing MOP 3,000 or more of subsidy are also pay-first.
- Confirm your time slot: each one-person course allows only one reschedule, at least 1 hour before the lesson.
